Based on the casual shutting down of Doom's armour as seen in the scan below. That's some uber anti-tech... erm.... tech right there.

For anyone interested, the story ended with the Leader basically out-maneuvering Doom and capturing him. About time old big head got some respect amongst the top brains.

Cheers.

Do I think this is jobbing on Doom's part? No. He probable has a standard design for his armor that if one knows about it can take it down. It is the same thing that happened to Stark in Secret Invasion.

So, if Banner is supposed to be as smart as he is and I'm sure at some point he had access to files on Doom's armor that either Reed or SHIELD have studied at some point he could figure out a weakness. Now, this should only work once as I would expect Doom to study his armor or Bruce's technology, figure out the weakness, and correct it.

However, the problem with these super-geniuses as has been shown time and again is for all their planning one unforeseen variable creeps up and ruins all of their plans. The Intelligencia is supposed to be some of the smartest beings on the planet yet already problems with Red Hulk and even Doom's first betrayal have appeared. Reed thinks he has all the calculations and gets one decimal point off and things blow up. The Mad Thinker thinks he has calculated everything and one variable appears that ruins all of his plans. The Wizard can invents his newest gadget and things blow up for him. Doom's arrogance causes him to overlook seemingly minor details that lead to his defeats. Tony Stark thinks he can predict human events and calls himself a futurist, but then the Skrulls invade.

The point is all these smart guys end up thinking they are so smart and one detail they did not foresee ruins their plans. Banner is currently being portrayed as both arrogant and highly intelligent, but as we have seen it is impossible to predict everything. He is going up against a group of guys that are supposed to be around his level of intelligence if not smarter. I would be very surprised if by the end of this Banner's plans did not in some way blow up in his face.
