I don't think I understand how invulnerability could work for the ears. Don't the ears pick up vibrations to hear? If they were too dense, then "invulnerable" characters that do no have super-hearing like Hercules and Hulk* would surely be deaf.
On the other hand, invulnerable charactes like "Superman" who do have super-hearing while perhaps not being deaf, would still vulnerable since their powers compensate.

Hearing functions because the ear drum vibrates and blah blah via mechanism that i cant be bothered to Wikipedia different frequencies stimulate different nerve cells and then the info is analysed by the brain. Superman can have a super sensitive ear drum that can resonate with sounds that are well below the human threshold for detection and still be "invulnerable" as long as they dont tear etc when exposed to stress. In other words sensitivity, flexibility and resilience etc arent mutually exclusive properties.

I think its similar to the rest of him - do you see him as like a moving statue who cant shake hands with someone without his unyielding rock like flesh giving away his inhumanness or do you see him as having skin that is flexible like ours but extremely resistant to being torn, punctured etc. We think of "the man of steel" and others as being like the first example much of the time but i believe the latter would have to be closer to the truth.

Don't even get me started on Daredevil and Wolverine. If you wanted to beat those guys, just use a whistle to mess them up.

The flipside of the above is that i dont think there is any reason why someone who has better hearing has to be more vulnerable to loud noises. Its probably not like the volume is turned up on everything they hear but more like they have a much higher dynamic range of volumes they can perceive.

He hears all our prayers and the angrier he gets the harder he listens.
