    Quote:
...the Hulk is a lot more invulnerable than a jet. When the Hulk invaded Asgard in the 60's, Hogun tossed the Hulk a weapon and the Hulk vaporized the weapon of Asgardian metal with a mere handclap! I guess that's why the scene bothered me. Is Asgardian metal less impressive than arrows from Olympus? I see what you're saying, though.

One, just different writers interpretations about how a character responds to things.

Two, the varying power levels that come with every character depending on situation and writer. Pak has done this several times with the gods in Marvel. Poseidon was weakened without any real good explanation. Several times he had characters point guns to the heads of major gods expecting that to be a serious threat. He finally wised up and tried to come up with a "mistletoe bullet" explanation that still made no sense. Heck, one time he had Wolverine impaled with a spear in the heart and made out like it was a big deal. This being Wolverine.

Three, just the way portrayal of the Hulk had been changed over the years. Back in the sixties he was invulnerable. Nowadays, it takes a lot less to hurt him, but he just heals. Artemis turned him into a pin cushion and it didn't even slow the Hulk down. Back in Planet Hulk, I remember one scene where the Hulk was impaled with a bunch of spears after he had defeated the Red King. It raised a bunch of questions because the Hulk should be invulnerable to that level of weapon because they people who threw them had no superhuman strength. At least nothing compare to Artemis.
