I love his character work on the Hulk book, but I have to admit he does seem to have a striking inability to write any kind of fight other than a straight forward punch-up. Chaos War #5 being by far the worst example of this.

That is something I have noticed throughout his work. Aside from the occasional energy blast all we usually see is straight fights with people punching or purely physical. "Sacred Invasion" had mostly straight fighting except some eye beams. Same with "Assault on Olympus," "Love and War," "Prince of Power," and "Dark Reign Hercules," and many other instances. That was one of my main criticsms of Chaos War #5. Hercules is told all last issue that punching will not work, but all he does is punch. Odin and Thor have usually shown more imaginative uses with their respective powers. Pak tends to be punch with the occassional energy blast. It makes him good with characters like Hulk and Hercules, but they tend to suffer when confronting characters who can do so much more.
