Sigh, what happened to all the sane posters on the board. Once upon a time you could take a stand of trying to be a centrist and put things in perspective. Now if you take a stand that character x cannot drain a galaxy you are ignoring evidence or if character y is not strong enough to drag a solar system you are a liar.

Comics are full of inconsistancies. It is perfectly valid based on varying portrails through varying eras. If you want to count everything you have to count everything. If you want to talk about an era you cannot branch out of it. But taking an era totally out of context to support case x while ignoring other events is disingenious.

So if I have become the outlier fine. I just find it ridiculous the state of this place over the last while. Has all reason left everyone left here?

I can sympathise. This board is a relatively moderate one where posters are more inclined to use their judgement and "common sense" compared to some others. I think its interesting that this place and perhaps Herochat, which both have a style of debating that encourages taking into account more than just powersets have a more rounded and down to Earth perspective whereas places like CBR, comicvine, KMC etc have a very literal minded, feat driven, "hard proof" driven style. These sites usually try to actually settle once and for all who would win any given matchup and seem to be very moderator driven in that people with dissenting opinions will disappear. They are more prone to deciding that one character would be 1000s of times more powerful than someone else based on some obscure feat or other (ie Gladiator >>>>>> Superman). Lately perhaps we have seen a few posters who have become accustomed to that style of debating showing up here and the consensus has changed.

I alwasy found it kind of frustrating when there was so much skepticism about stuff that i felt was true and poster stake everything with a grain of salt but its pretty crazy to go to boards where people will totally buy into 80% of the most absurd feats from every character.
