The author states that the Hulk & Sentry 'forced' each other to revert. He does not say that it was from exhaustion. Rather, he denotes that it was the other combatant's POWER that forced them to revert. The Sentry's power has a long-established history of calming, soothing and pacifying the angry Hulk. And what do we see on the page? We see the angriest Hulk ever become calm, centered, peaceful and self-aware right there on the page (and as Hiroim describes). Nothing about exhaustion, but rather, enlightenment.

And if you don't think that's in the comic itself, you need to read it again...

Hulk and Banner truly on the same page for more than a panel.
Interesting take on the enlightenment, I've been mentioning for a while that Gravage in that fight seemed by far the wiser of the two.
