Not when the other character is straight up mentioned in the story. And the writer has himself stated that Superman is more powerful than Thor.

He most certainly did say that he was joking. And on a CBR chat, he said that Thor was probably more powerful.

    No, he didn't.

    Link to that CBR chat?

            Quote:
Of course Reed doesn't say that. He says "perhaps". You can't disregard that caveat. Superman is the co-star of the book and therefore is being pumped up. Nowhere in the crossover with Silver Surfer is there any implication of him being above Surfer. If anything the opposite since he is impressed by what Surfer does. If we extrapolate from that as you do, then that would seem to put Surfer above Superman.

Except being impressed is not the same thing as being more powerful.

And being "perhaps" something does not mean actually being something.

It is still more than Thor has ever been stated.

Not at all.

And Surfer's own writer Ron Marz showed Cyborg Superman having advantage over Surfer while Superman easily defeated Cyborg under Marz.

He is not shown having an advantage. They go back and forth until interrupted. That's abc logic along with being inaccurate.

    Quote:
Uh no? Surfer dodged all of Cyborg's attacks after being staggered by one blast and Cyborg casually tanks his blast saying essentially if that's all he got?

    Quote:
It was akin to a Hulk vs Thing fight.

Total nonsense. You are basing the entire fight on a line of thought from Surfer where he judges Cyborg's power level. Surfer is never shown hurt and you have a fight showing back and forth before being interrupted.

JLA/Avengers probably got close to being right with the two having a slug out. Superman barely outlasts Thor in a straight fight, but one could argue Thor did not use many other powers either.

              Quote:
Thats not what happened. Superman didnt win a war of attrition. He straight up defeated Thor and was winded. Thats it.

            Quote:
He barely defeats Thor (he confirms this himself) and is significantly weakened in the process. Saying that he is merely "winded" is not being honest.

He said he barely defeated Thor, just like he barely defeated Darkseid.

    Quote:
Haha no, Darkseid has made him bleed from both ears with just one blast and defeated him with three punches.

I'm talking about their final fight in Apokalips Now. Thor makes Superman bleed in JLA/Avengers #1.
