As Primetime said below, I don't think he used the lightning.

He did. He even amped up mjolnir with it.

And even if Jurgens said Superman was more powerful in some interview (which I think other posters may have refuted in this thread), if it didn't happen in the comic it doesn't matter much. Like my opinion on the matter doesn't matter much:

Except he wrote Superman as perhaps the most powerful hero on both DC and Marvel earths where he explicitly mentioned Thor.

So no, its not just an interview.

I think Thor is a better fighter and has greater energy projection. I'd say Thor has greater ability to come back from serious injury (better healing). Superman has better maneuverability and hard durability. I wouldn't be against giving Supes a slight strength advantage either. I think Mjolnir packs a harder punch than either on their own. And it allows Thor to absorb energy projection thrown at him (like heat vision). Given Supes' magic vulnerability, I think it's a very fair fight. I give the edge to Thor unless Supes uses speed blitzing a lot.

Ironically, Superman is better than Thor in all of those save maybe energy projection. He has better fighting feats, better healing feats and much, much stronger. If you want, we can do a feat war.

Mjolnir doesn't hits as hard as Superman does as well.

1) The way Superman is bent over flying away makes me wonder if Mjolnir is there in his gut pushing him away and trailing lightning. If you don't think it's a hit with Mjolnir that caused Superman to be blown away, is it your position that Thor's lightning alone is powerful enough to do that to Superman?

2) Artistic license aside, where is it ever said that Mjolnir is in any way amped?

3) Thor hits harder with Mjolnir than Superman does with his fist. Superman knows a little about that after Thor's first strike.
