Most of the showings mentioned though are post Silver Age...Marvel still has those silver age feats in continuity, so you're dealing with absorption of the bomb that would have destroyed 1/4 of the Universe etc.

Thor didn't do any such thing, all he did was stop a chain reaction. And he actually died stopping that bomb.

There is absolutely nothing in the comic about the bomb starting a chain reaction. You just made that up.

The bombs were destroyed without any blasts occurring. Photon, Cap, Surfer all destroyed the bombs.

Heck, Cap destroyed one when it was going off.

One fifth of the universe would have died if Thor did not contain that bomb.

All he did was cut it off from rest of space time and hence stopped the chain reaction.

Dying in the process has no effect on the feat itself. Superman could not absorb the energy that could destroy one fifth of the universe. Sometimes he can't even handle the energy of a single star, much less the energy that would destroy trillions of stars.

    Quote:
Heh, that's why he physically absorbed the power of maggeddon which could destroy half the galaxy?

In the issue, one of the bombs actually does go off and actually flat out destroys one fifth of the universe. No chain reaction to be found. And the text specifically states that Thor contains the blast.

You should know by now from reading this thread that abhijit twists everything.
