I'm not seeing this grand disparity in physical strength you are alluding to. In the Avengers film, the Hulk stopped the advance of a creature (one-handed for much of it) with sufficient mass to fly through buildings and cause their collapse. Meanwhile, Superman failed to so much slow the descent of the locomotive tossed at him in MOS.

Also, the 30mm rounds fired from the A-10s seemed to at least hurt the Kryptonians, with an air to surface missile actually knocking Faora out cold. Conversely, the Hulk seemed no more than annoyed by the 25mm rounds from the F-35 escort fighter, and never lost consciousness from the midair explosion of said plane.

One might argue that at least some of the characters between the two cinematic universes are closer in power than you would have us believe.

the leviathan Hulk one shotted though I thought was as big of a deal as anything Superman has done, and probably bigger.

In Avengers 2, wasn't it Thor that destroyed the falling city, wich would have cause a global extinction event or something?
