I'm a fan of that saga so I had luckily followed up on it every time I found out they had appeared somewhere.
To be more direct in his comparison to other reality manipulators, Jaspers had a fight with another (unknowing) one at the time, because in Exiles Morph had been possessed by Proteus and brainwashed to forget he was Proteus, so unconsciously had his powers.
Remember, Proteus in the World Tour during Exiles was a beast in his own right, he jumped universes thanks to the Tallus and possessed anyone he pleased (as long as they didn't have metal inside them or as part of their bodies) and could add to their powers matter and possibly reality manipulation; he jumped from an alternate Mimic to a bunch of others until he possessed 2099 Hulk, then he broke the spine of a Maestro and almost possessed him, instead ending up possessing Morph (and discovering that his body was perfect for him, since it didn't "burn up" in a short time like all others Hulks included would have)
and it was shown as a "universe ending" kind of outcome
anyway, they got resurrected and managed to fix Morph by making him forget he was Proteus with a gimmick, and when Morph faced Jaspers, aspects of Proteus started reappearing while he joined the Exiles and the Britain corps in fighting Jaspers, he was the one who could manage to stand against Jaspers one on one for a bit, before he totally became the Fury.
I liked the Proteus/Morph symbiotic relationship after, when they ended up reconciling, a pity they divided them again later.
