What are the main differences?

I understand that Olympoian citizens are individually more impressive, they are true immortals, such as why Zeus looks like he is in his physical prime, whilst Odin looks older.

However, Asgard appears to have more realms and has more of a warrior culture.

and the handbooks tended to list Asgardians as a little stronger IIRC...but the 'elite' Olympians are atypical, and how many 'non elite' Olympians do you see.

But then, classically, Heimdall fighting Thor was a pretty even fight, and Heimdall's sword seemed to have some powers too. Tyr could fight Thor pretty evenly.

And then, the 'elite' Olympians have looked pretty good....except for Ares...who now has some better showings, but for a long time was a mediocre brick...so....

I just kind of recall my impression through the late 80's was that the Olympians had true immortality, but the Asgardians were a little stronger and tougher, and maybe a little more powerful...made them equivalent, as the Olympians channelled more of their 'power' to immortality.

Classically, they were also equivalent to their Eternal counterparts, at least the ones that looked the same. Ares had a great fight against Ikaris in which he lost after his magic axe was broken...but Thena and Athena were dead even, as were Zuras and Zeus, etc.
