Quote:Popularity isn't always a good stick to measure.
You're making a couple of unproven assumptions here. First that posters are only voting based on popularity, and even if that were the case, Superman is arguably the more popular character between he and Thor. Basically, you can't read other people's minds to know why they voted as they did and to assume you know better than they is disingenuous and possibly insulting.
Second, you assume that Superman beating Thor in one comic makes it a settled issue in what was a very close fight, one that Busiek himself has said could have gone either way. And sure, this one fight's result is Busiek's opinion, but other writers like Byrne have disagreed. Fans who have just as much knowledge as Busiek on the two characters are free to agree or disagree. The comic in no way invalidates those who have a different opinion. Spider-Man beat Firelord in a fight. Does that mean nobody can argue that Firelord should win? Of course not, but that's what you're saying here. There are a hundred fights in comics where arguably the person who won shouldn't have won.
