Nevermind thag Busiek himself said Superman is stronger than Nefaria but you know better than the writer, don't you?
You just have to warp the context anyway to show marvel characters superior don't you?

Where are they shown waking up at the same time? We seem them both awake, but we are not shown them waking up.
