Okay, my apologies. It just seemed too coincidental with the dialogue from our other thread.

Apology accepted. And I'm really not trying to taunt you. I'm just stating things as I see it.

Maybe you’re not aware of the retcon, but that’s actually Desaad and there’s an issue where Darkseid asks him how many times he impersonated him, they’re standing on images that show the scenes in these scans.

Oh, I am well aware of that page, but again, showing one instance of Superman fighting a fake Darkseid doesn't mean it's the Byrne story of Superman fighting Darkseid. It's really open to interpretation, but I'd say that interpretation is closed off once DC spotlights the story under a volume of Superman vs. Darkseid stories.

as to whether all DS's low showings were really Desaad or not, though there is an implication there that at least sheds question on his previous defeats.

That said, I don't think DC including that fight in a compilation book invalidates the retcon. Do you really think that much thought went into the compilation book, or that much tracking of continuity? If so, you're giving them WAY too much credit.

Only Jim Shooter Marvel MAY have paid that much attention to detail.

In any case, I consider the Desaad impersonating Darkseid to be great showings for Desaad, who never impressed me with his power levels otherwise.
