Fetal position requires the knees to be drawn up to the chest. Thanos is no more than floating in space. Same for Hal. Thanos breaks Kyle's grip and is headed for Hal before Kyle clearly attacks him from behind.

Although I don’t think this is admissible evidence of green lantern beating Thanos in a straight up fight, your rationale is like, wow. Fetal position? Attack from behind? Dude, the real reason this doesn’t count in my opinion was something explained about 10 pages earlier where Thanos told Kyle his ring was the key to making his machine work.. He tricked Kyle into thinking it was for some other purpose than giving Thanos all that extra power which is what happened. The ring therefore also had a unique capability to do the energy drain that did Thanos in. That to me is why it’s not a real loss, because it was highly circumstantial. Now... the way you argue, that it was attack from behind and he’s not in fetal position, knees weren’t to the chest, so therefore..?? You actually went there? He was clearly unable to withstand the energy drain and it wiped him out. Your correct conclusion cannot be supported by the way you got there
