    Quote:

Superman beats Darkseid, because he is top tier.

    Thor can't beat Thanos.

The implication then, is that Superman > Thor.

That is why people can't accept it, they will fight tooth and nail, just as they fail to register Thor getting knocked out, whilst accepting Superman's dubious claim that he MAY be the toughest opponent he fought.

As if you know people's minds better than themselves that you can condescendingly dismiss that people can have legitimate reasons for their beliefs. This thread has nothing to do with Thor vs. Superman. You're the first person to bring that up. I highly doubt people are going through the mental gymnastics you're accusing them of. It could simply be as simple as Thanos has overall better combat showings than Darkseid and a large part of that is due to Darkseid outright losing to Superman several times to Thanos never losing to Silver Surfer, Hulk, and their likes. An argument can be made that he (or a clone) lost to Thor, but it comes with caveats. Superman outright beat Darkseid 3 times. Now has Starlin protected Thanos with retcons? Certainly. Has he been overprotective? Perhaps (though a lot of it has to do with characterization, not feats). But nevertheless that is what's canon. Darkseid has had protective retcons too. My only argument is that Action Comics #586 is not one of them for reasons I've made abundantly clear already.

You post scans about Darkseid getting beaten by Superman.

Superman has beat Hulk, Darkseid (in your scans) and Thor. He's clearly top tier if he has beaten Darkseid.
