Quote:Here are scans showing Superman "having no chance" against omega beams. Oh wait, he's taking them over and over and over again with Darkseid's stated intent to kill Superman with them, and Superman still standing after all of that:
Quote:Darkseid was weakened.
Quote:Darkseid shows no weakness during the fight, states no weakness during the fight, the narration denotes no weakness during the fight. That because Darkseid was only weakened AFTER the fight as proven here:
Darkseid does not has to state his weakness which is out of character for him anyway. It's stated and shown pretty clearly that he was weakened.
In MOS 116, in the same arc Superman ran away from his omega beams and used entropy aegis to shield himself.
Why would that be if he can take the blast with no issues?
Yes, it does.
Quote:Again, Desaad masquerading as Darkseid in #643 does not at all mean he was doing the same in #586.
It shows he has a habit of masquerading as Darkseid.
Oh right, it's not real Thanos even after the TPB was titled Thor vs Thanos, eh? How did I know that will be your answer.
Quote:I'm open to the interpretation that Marvel considers that the real Thanos in the story. It's certainly open to debate. It's harder to deny it was a clone because Starlin retconned it pretty explicitly unlike the much more vague retcon you're claiming about Action Comics #586. However, Thor was powered up in beating whatever version of Thanos this is, so it's not directly comparable to Superman beating Darkseid under Superman's own power.
Quote:That's not what I said. I said it's arguable either way.
Not by your logic. It's Thor vs Thanos so it must be true Thanos.
Quote:And you said yourself that this was a clean win for Thor.
Quote:I said it was a clean win for Thor WITH his belt of strength. I then retracted this after being reminded that he still had a portion of the armor on and that gave him an additional power up. In any case, even if it were Thor with just his belt of strength, it's not completely fair to compare Thor with his belt of strength beating Thanos (once) to normal Superman beating Darkseid (3 different times). Thor with his belt of strength would crush Superman too.
A clean win doesn't has any asterisks and you said that the belt of strength is a normal power set for Thor.
Superman has never beaten Darkseid without Darkseid being injured or Superman being amped.
Thor only took three hits to crush Thanos. That means six hits at normal power levels.
Thanks for the answer champ.
