... he just learned to channel the power without the hammer. He was already pretty clearly the top dog as far as power goes. All of the damage to the giant's world, owning The Destroyer, nuking half of the Chitari invasion fleet, taking down somebody controlling an infinity stone... he didn't do anything in Ragnarok that would suggest he's suddenly more powerful than he already was.
