I think some creators think Superman is the most powerful character, some feel that way about the Hulk, and the same with Thor. The Silver Surfer, and so on. I don't think comic writers are any different than fans, in that they run the gamut in terms of who they feel is the most powerful. If anything, any time we hear any kind of editorial position it's that things are all up in the air.
The Sentry had the ability to reshape reality, at least for some significant portion of his history. I don't think this was meant to suggest that Marvel's position is that Superman reshapes reality
And as far as Sun God is concerned. That was one appearance of one character who may have been one writer's idea of how a fight with Hulk and Superman should go. This seems like a stretch.
