Quote: Quote: Quote: Quote: Quote: So Friday says that the explosion would vaporize the city and everyone and then Stark says "OK, let's kill everyone" and creates a seal to do that? The heat seal's purpose was to contain the vibrations from Thor's strike and rebound them back up, but the seal had nothing to do with protecting Thor. No part of the dialogue you quoted says anything about protecting Thor and you've already admitted you were wrong about the purpose of the heat seal as we will see below. Quote: It's a non feat actually, Thor neither destroyed nor tanked a city exploding. Of course he did both. Here's the video. Thor hits Sokovia. Sokovia explodes all around him. The devastation is utterly massive. Thor survives with barely a scratch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnfmmp_Kjek Quote: Quote: Quote: Quote: Quote: Are you sure you gave watched the movie? Because the heat seal was to secure everyone including Thor. That's what the dialog says straight up. So you were flat wrong. You said the heat seal was for "everyone" but there is no everyone which proves yours was a made-up reason all along. There would be no reason to say "everyone" if you only ever meant Thor. Furthermore, you even get to see what the heat seal looks like at the 33 second mark in the above linked video. You see Thor strike the vibranium at the 53 second mark. Everything EXPLODES around him. There is absolutely no heat seal around him. Quote: Quote: Quote: Quote: Quote: Quote: Thor hit the vibranium, the vibrations from the vibranium went downward, hit Stark's heat shield and reverberated back up, and vaporized the city. But it was all Thor channeling the power to destroy the city. Then tell me the exact line of dialogue that says they are doing this to protect Thor. You can't. Quote: It's also to seal the vibrations in a closed loop. If the vibrations escaped and hit Thor, they will not be doubling back. Thanks for destroying your own theory. Actually that destroys yours. If Thor is blocked by your theoretical heat seal, he's blocked from striking and creating the vibrations in the first place. The doubling back part is when the vibrations hit the bottom of the floating island and bounce back up. That's why Stark says, "Maybe if we can cap the other end," meaning the bottom of the island. He's not capping the top. How could he? He's at the bottom with millions of tons of rock between him and Thor. | |||||||
