I say any of those three villains could be awesome season big bads for Buffy and her friends. Mostly because they aren't going to be able to beat any one of them permanently in their first encounter because each one is incredibly difficult to kill (especially Jason since he keeps coming back no matter what is done to him). With no knowledge about any of these guys, Jason, Freddy and Pennwise are to challenge Buffy and her friends to think on how to beat them.

How does she, Giles, Willow, Xander and Oz do against: Freddy Kruger haunting people's dreams - can they put him down?

Not at first and not after some gruesome deaths. It's going to be pretty hard to beat someone who haunts your nightmares. But eventually Buffy and her friends would figure out how to beat Freddy and then it's all over for this season big bad.

Jason Voorhees on a murder spree through Sunnydale.

I can see Buffy and Jason just going at it. Both getting their licks in and Jason not saying a word. But eventually, Buffy is going to stab Jason and she's going to think it's all over. A few episodes later, however, and Jason is back and killing again. If this were a season long arc, I can see Buffy and her friends killing Jason in all sorts of different ways, with nothing working because he just keeps coming back from it all.

Finally, in the season finale, with the stakes higher than ever, Buffy and her friends finally think they have what it is needed to put Jason down forever. And so they do. A good after credits scene would be Jason twitching with dramatic music for taste.

    Pennywise the Clown.

I think Pennywise would be Buffy and team's biggest challenge yet. And if your into horror, this would make for one entertaining season of horror filled episodes with Pennywise doing all kinds of stuff to Buffy and her friends. In the end, though, Buffy and her friends find a way to end Pennywise and go for the win.

Yeah, Big Bad might be appropriate. Jason, I could see your argument and it's a good one.

Pennywise too would be spectacular.
