um...maybe a copy of his favorite comic signed by the writer or artist would work? Maybe you could get on Ebay?

If he likes DC comics I would get him one or more of the dvd box sets for their justice league animated series. That show is awesome.

Those are both good choices, as would be some of DC's or Marvel's hardback archives.

But really ... hate to break it to the OP ... but I hate questions like this because ... brace yourself ... comic fans have different tastes!

What sort of comics does he like?

If he is into Captain America specifically, I would go onto ebay and look for a Captain America comic from the 1940's.
