While browsing the net, I come from time to time upon webpages, blogs etc., run by conservative Christians from the States. Among other topics, they give their opinions there about what they do consider as a modest dress. Those opinions vary - but some of those Christians advocate that, for example, women's dress should look like this:

I'd like to ask - how many of American Christians share those views? For example, is it common to see women dressed like that on the streets etc.? Do many of American Christians agree about the necessity of plain dress and head coverings for women - or are those a minority views?

I don't mean to offend anyone - I'm asking out of curiosity, as I'm a little interested in religion, various Christian denominations etc.

I think your topic is a little too broad to narrow down. Their are so many denominations of Christianity and *gasp* many of them walk amongst us and wear the same clothes as the rest of us. Scary but true. Personally I wish they all wore a uniform so I could know what they are right off the bat. At the very least isolate them to a certain sector of the city where they aren't bothering anyone else.

Sorry if I'm being rude Piotr but you act like you're going on a safari to discover some rare species. (cue annoying british narrator) "Over to your left you will see the American Christian women in her natural habitat...the minivan. Where she scrambles to make it to the Wal-Mart in time before picks up her 2.5 children from soccer".

Not a single one that I've met. Except the amish...who I haven't met.

No it is not common. No one dresses like they did on Little House On The Prairie.

I have a co-worker who is catholic and he mentioned a female friend of his from church who wears some type of head scarf thingee. I don't think she wears it all the time though since he says she's posing for playboy next month. I think she just wears it to church.
