It always amuses me when a mortal human mind tries to comprehend something that is clearly so above and beyond the human mind technically it should be impossible for us to comprehend said being. I recall the Book of Job making this quite clear (or I think it was Job). In other words...never question the will of God.

Also, point of note, God is not that involved in our lives as most people think. I mean we do have free will afterall. So the whole why would God kill an infant. God didn't kill an infant. An infant was killed because of something in the real world. God had no hand in it. Nor is it God's job to prevent such death. It would completely destroy the idea of free will.

Not necessarily -- we could inhabit a world in which willing or wanting certain things was possible, but the material (not spiritual) consequences of such willing were prevented by "everyday miracles" of some sort. In fact, considering what Jesus has to say about the indistinction between lusting for a woman and sleeping with her, will without action seems to count theologically anyway.
