> \:\-\) Ok, as to the question of "what is a fact?", I'd say that the five senses definitely consitute legitimate means of verifying facts. They are indeed the whole basis of science. If you want to distrust them that's your right of course, but aspects of your post seemed to have much more to do with existential philosophy than with science. Then of course humans have also created all kinds of scientific instruments that are even more sensitive, and that can go beyond our senses (such as detecting magnetism, etc.).

...because it will spare us much misunderstanding. But don't misunderstand me I do trust my senses in my every day life and they do constitute my day to day fact basis. Not doing so isn't really an option unless I plan to go insane. Whitch I don't any time soon. It's only when I tackle spirituality and subject concerning a higher reality that my notion of what a fact is shift to the more existantial stance. The topic was quite appropriate for it I think but I don't see it as incompatible with science at all. Scientist should never fear reevaluating their stance and asserting their limits. And that should never stop them from trying to reach for a higher truth.

I know something will probably always evade my sensory grasp be it with my 5 senses or the ones I build to scan a broader range of the universe spectrum. We will always acquire new knowldege and ideas but what remains unknown always seem to remain infinitly bigger. I think we are quite arrogant to take so much for granted and forget how ignorant we are in fact. I don't want to tell people what to think or beleive. I would simply like it that they know why they chose to beleive in what they do. In the end it doesn't change a thing except your choice being a conscious one. Be a theist or an atheist or whatever you want. Just be sure it's your choice and your good with it.
