> Endorsement on Meet the Press
> Statements right after, I believe?
> I love what Powell had to say. So many of his points are things I've been screaming at my TV asking why no one is making them. Particularly the one about Muslim and President/"good man" are mutually exclusive (although Daily Show did attempt this one as well, this past week). And the fact that ALL taxes are "redistribution of wealth." I'm very happy about this.
> And I still think Powell MIGHT have made a better Presidential candidate than anyone else we got this year. But he and his wife were probably smart in putting the well-being (and survival) of their family first.
> > Or at least he's going to. Meet the Press hasn't come on yet in my area. I think this is pretty big. You have one of the most respected military figures throwing in with Obama even though McCain normally gets the edge when it comes to military stuff.
> > What I'm liking most is how the McCain campaign is reacting. It's indicative of the denial that has ruled the Republican party for the last few years. Danny Diaz, one of McCain's communicator type people, was truly pathetic trying to spin this.
I think what will really make a difference is not that Powell endorsed Obama but what he said about the Republican party. I agree with Andrew and Atrimus in that he really hit the nail on the head.
