Reply Subj: Colin Powell endorses Barack Obama on Meet the Press

> Or at least he's going to. Meet the Press hasn't come on yet in my area. I think this is pretty big. You have one of the most respected military figures throwing in with Obama even though McCain normally gets the edge when it comes to military stuff.

It's not really surprising. It's been speculated on for months that Powell would endorse Obama. I also doubt that Powell will actually do anything publicly for Obama's campaign.

I don't know if it that important of an endorsement. Most would say that Powell only endorsed Obama because they are both black, and even Powell admits that race was a factor. Also, Powell is really only perceived to have knowledge over foreign policy, which makes the endorsement even less important.

I'd be curious to know what Powell thinks of Obama's foreign policy, and even his policies on other issues. I noticed that Powell didn't comment on that in any article I saw. Not that it would really matter.
