Reply Subj: Why do people say early voting is an advantage for Obama?

Typically, republicans are the ones that vote earlier in the day, while democrats vote later in the day. It's mostly because republicans are usually more dedicated to their vote, while democrats do it "when they can get around to it". Just thought I'd mention that.

Now, early voting means voting before Nov 4. Some states allow early voting for various reasons. Also, absentee ballots are another form.

Absentee ballots will likely swing to Obama. A large percentage of these voters will be college students (who lean democrat), and various other groups (military, etc).

Since some states allow people to vote before Nov 4, they likely to that to ease the burden on election day. So it's typically urban/city centers. And those typically lean democratic as well.

Obama has also energized his democratic base, and they are excited to vote for him. McCain on the other, is still battling to get the republican base to vote for him, because they don't think he is conservative enough. It's likely that a lot of republicans simply won't go out and vote.

Plus Obama with his campaign and money, is pushing more people to vote early. McCain doesn't have the money or the campaign structure to do that.
