Well... you seemed worried, so I wanted to help calm any irrational fears. In any case, if this is happening more frequently, it probably means you need to change your routine. Look at real world root causes for why your sleep would be prone to so much disruption. Maybe some unresolved issues are manifesting themselves while you sleep, causing these nightmarish episodes. Like I said, sleep on your side (night-hags can't sit on your chest if you're on your side) and resolve any issues that are making you lose sleep (or having bad sleep).

To show you're not the only one, let me relate one of my episodes... A few weeks ago I watched a horror movie (the Japanese version of 'Grudge.' Much scarier than the American version). When I went to sleep that night, I had a terrible episode where I thought I was being dragged across my wooden floor against my will, while I heard heavy breathing behind me. I then thought I woke up back in my bed, but things were a bit off. The walls were a bit closer than normal and the ceiling was much lower. There was also a dead woman in a wedding gown sitting at the foot of my bed singing a lullaby. I woke up with a start, flushed my horror-movie addled brain out with some lighthearted 'Simpsons' and went back to sleep with my bedroom light on. Slept like a baby. \:\-\)

That is how it came off . . . I was mostly complainging (I like complaining) about it happening more and more often. "god i hope it was a dream" was supposed to be me joking around. It's the frequency rather than the actual event that is causing me worry. 6 times in the last month, is obnoxious.
