What are the differences between them, or are they inter-changable? If they are not then what is to stop us having an 'evil' mind and a 'good' soul?

I don't believe in a soul so to me it's a pointless question. We are all a collection of our memories, our instincts, chemical reactions etc. Their is nothing unique about any of us.

I was agreeing until you wrote that. There is a lot unique about each of us, and it's in the minor differences in our wiring and physical design. It's like an Intel CPU versus an AMD, except with even more architectures. Both chips are designed to do the same thing, but they go about doing them in slightly different ways, which creates certain efficiencies and deficiencies. On top of this, there are also the microscopic differences in physical design, which can affect the way the chips work.

Each person's brain isn't wired in the same way, and because if this, will go about doing things slightly differently. Bodies aren't shaped the same, so they go about doing things differently. Some of those differences aren't as efficient as others. And because of some of those differences, some actions aren't as easy or possible.

But yes, I don't believe in the commonly accepted definition of soul. There is only the material, imo. Emotions, memories, et al. are just chemical reactions in our bodies.
