have there ever been any proponents of the use of the confederate flag who have also openly opposed slavery and segregation?

I am a proponent for the use of the confederate flag and I openly oppose slavery and segregation. I think the stars and bars just looks cool. "American by birth, southern by the grace of god" is a cool saying as well. I've seen blacks wear the confederate flag numerous times.

There have some instances of it's use which had nothing to do with slavery, discrimination, etc. The football team Ole Miss use to have the flag as one of their symbols. It was part of the Georgia State flag. It was on the Dukes of Hazard car, and I'll assume they weren't racist, but I've never see the show/movie.

I'm against the villainization and the banishment of the flag.
