    That doesn't happen in UHC systems. If your doctor recommends you for a procedure, you get it.

    Now, what IS an issue, potentially, is the availability of doctors and the wait-time attached to the procedure. This is why UHC systems have make a big deal out of placing people in priority groups according to the severity of their specific ailment and the likelihood of a full recovery.

    But, really, which system is preferable - the one funded by Big Brother or the one dependent on Big Business? In the former, medical decisions dictate when you get the procedure - it's imperfect, but it's more or less fair; in the latter, money dictates if you get the procedure - medical necessity be damned.


...when all is said and done it's a question of social value.
