Yes no one else has. You prove my point. There is a "type" of post that would have been made here were some of these things done from the right...not so when the left does it.

I am sure there are a dozen terrible things we can bring up that Trump alone has done...and we see them and hes a douchbag for it and needs to be stopped. But your response really just proves my point.

Eh, I'm probably arguing semantics here, but there's a difference between "no one else will" and "no one else has." The Kathy Griffin thing has been brought up before, so to say that "no one else will" talk about it on this board is not true. Yes, no one brought up the shooting, but that doesn't mean that no one else would have. Personally, I think falling into the left/right trap with these events is probably a mistake.

Also, would it surprise you to know that one of the reasons I'm pro social justice issues around here is because sometimes no one else is?

I think the people that complained about it helped get her more exposure than she's ever had and helped get more eyes on that photo then if there was no uproar. I think it's interesting that more people blame Griffin than the photographer, Tyler Shields. While I don't know for sure, it seems like he's the artist and she's just the subject.

    Quote:
She is on video making a statement that she knows what she is doing and asks him to take the photo. She is NOT the victim here.

I'm not saying she is the victim, but if you're going to blame someone, he's probably just a culpable, if not more so. I can't say I know much about Shields, but I have seen headlines about him having controversial photos in the past. My assumption is that it was his idea to put Kathy Griffin together with a decapitated Donald Trump. Sure she agreed to do it, but if it wasn't her idea, does she deserve all the blame?

As for the photo itself, I'm rather indifferent.

    Quote:
And were you indifferent to the extremely insulting posters and similar things done to Obama? Is it art of the KKK makes a video of stringing up our former President? I for one would not be indifferent to that.

Well, one of the reasons I'm indifferent is because I don't think Kathy Griffin is relevant. Why should I care about what she does? If it was I liked or respected, I would probably have more of an opinion.

I also think it's hard to compare racism to this.

It's a false flag attack designed to take rights away from Bernie supporters and others on the left. It's not even a very convincing one. One of the actors they hired is fairly well known. Here's his IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0874339 And those aren't fake credits either, I've seen him in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. They can't fool me with something so sloppy.

    Quote:
You think its a staged shooting? Or you think its an attack on Bernie? That's a conspiracy theory indeed. Bernie himself condemned the act. And he is a wild case nut job that is not representative of Bernie supporter...I was a Bernie Supporter. But your indifference and calling it all a basically staged act is just what I was calling out from the beginning.

I want to be the left wing Alex Jones. Is that too much to ask? Or is there already a left wing Alex Jones? If there is, I would like to subscribe to his newsletter.

Let me give you a better example. The President tweeting out he is being investigated by the guy who told him to fire the FBI director...THAT is a false flag and lie number 8347 this week from Trump. Not people getting shot.

Does the Left need to calm down like our actor from Capt America (Chris Evans) movies has publically stated? Who was attacked from both sides for stating (paraphrasing) - "That Trump is our President makes me angry and sick to my stomach but people need to calm down and stop with all the hate."

      Quote:

        Quote:
Not yet. I mean, our president is someone who helped spread hate. I think a lot of people are disillusioned since the election and it's caused many of them to lash out. I say good. I just don't care anymore. I don't have kids, so I don't care about the future. The world could burn for all I care. And given who we elected, it probably will.

    Quote:
So fight hate with hate? Violence is the answer? Screw the future? Well I hope I don't see any complaints in the future from you about global climate change, sexism, racism, etc...because who cares right? Since you don't any argument you make is not clearly for the better good but for the burning of the world.

I don't think the problem is hate or violence. I think they're symptoms of a larger issue: lack of communication and understanding. I think the election of Trump makes a lot of people feel like they weren't heard. It's like Dr. King said "I think that we've got to see that a riot is the language of the unheard." I think there's a lot of issues that people aren't willing to talk about and don't really understand. I think some people are so focused on themselves that they don't care about others.

I think most of the time I go unheard. And so what's the point? Why should I share my opinion when no one cares? Why should I care when no one else does?
