Just curious, what brings you here, specifically to the community board? What do you get out of it?

I'm kinda wondering what the point of all this is?

I came here originally quite by accident. The majority of the posts looked a little like this to me:

Post 1: Look at this link. Trump is stupid.
Reply 1: yeah!
Reply 2: I agree!

I didn't see anyone's ideas or statements get challenged. That seems to be a bit different lately. There has been more varied opinions on the board. But at the time, that wasn't so. I thought of people who maybe weren't informed, but were looking for information, and seeing this one-sided conversation. I know....it's a silly place to come for political information, and maybe my opening assumption is ridiculous, but it is what it is. So in an effort to maybe change minds, and maybe provide what I thought was added context, or a different way of looking at the facts, I began to post.

I've seen post by you and MysteryMan make the case that if you're not trying to convince people, and change their minds, then what's the point? I agree with that. Maybe I can't change the mind of anyone who posts here, but maybe there are others who don't post reading these conversations. I don't know....maybe somewhere I've made one coherent point that has made someone re-think something.

Your question is...why here? I could do the same thing on a political message board. Sure, but those places are more likely filled with people who have already made up their minds quite solidly. This is a more neutral place, where maybe people are more open to different ideas.
