My first order of business would be to pack enough supplies (water, nonperishable food, books to keep my mind occupied), find the newest vehicle (preferably something for both road and off-road conditions), hit up the local Cabelas for a gun for defensive purposes, and set out to find other people. Assuming that necessities like gas stations, satellites (for GPS) are all still functioning, it shouldn't prove much of a problem for me to do a cursory search of the surrounding few cities. I wouldn't settle in any one city for more than a day, and I'd travel light, picking up supplies along the way.

Only after about a year of searching with no results would I settle somewhere to live the rest of my days, making sure to keep my gun handy for when my mind starts to slip.

I like this. It is similar to my own. I would freak out completely for a few hours, try the phone, knock on neighbours doors, then random houses. Drive down to the Hospital and Police Station, looking in shops and garages on the way.

I'd probably stock up on hospital supplies and food, then swap my vehicle for something more reliable. I'd break into the closest army station and then take a few firearms, ammunition and cleaning supplies etc.

I'd leave signs everywhere I was going. I'd probably set up a fire every night and then sleep nearby.

I'd probably get bored and then after checking in the closest cities, probably look to travel overseas and check in on other countries.

I would have to seriously research mechanics, that would be my weak point.
