Quote:We just had a rally here in Boston. There were about 50 "Free Speechers"; no nazis, no white supremacists. Just a bunch of college age Alex P. Keatons. There were about 40,000 counter protesters. Of those, there were probably 100-200 Antifa members. Since they had no one to fight with they threw rocks and urine at the police who did an excellent job at keeping the peace.
In Virginia there was violence from both sides and it escalated until an innocent person was killed. In Boston there was violence from one side and thank god there were no serious injuries.
Don't question my morality for thinking one hate group is as bad as another.
Quote:I do question it when you equate the group that killed someone with the group that did not to be on the same moral footing, when you equate the group that promotes racism and the group that protests against that racism to be on the same moral footing. That is wacked moral reasoning.
Quote:1-person killed people...not either HATE group.
So, one can ignore death chants and bragging about what happened in the first place?
Did they kill somebody or not? Others in the group celebrated it. Did anybody die on their side? You are giving a major benefit of a doubt here when I rarely see you do it for the extreme on the other side.
Quote:If and when Antifa kill or cause someone to be killed, I am sure they all wont be blamed for it. Just the specific person right?
Yes they would, most people are ready for liberal groups to do anything wrong at this point in time. Even ignoring that most of the time hate groups hold these things to start fights. It does not make the fights ok but they go out with the goal of provoking fights. Some groups oblige them.
Does not make either ok but if one side is showing up in greater numbers and equipped for battle one cannot excuse them because a smaller group came equipped. I feel that some would make the same argument if one guy on the other side showed up with a club against an army.
Quote:All Hate groups are garbage people. And when one of them goes too far they will face justice.
One also has to ignore the organization of these hate groups and how many have committed largely unreported acts of violence that are currently majorly being played down. As opposed to groups that are following them around and fighting fire with fire.
The later should be punished too, but when one side shows up fairly heavily arm and the other side is mostly peaceful to pretend that everything is on even footing is an outright lie and comes off as an attempt at normalization.
Trump and others make it worse. As they are quick to point out anything performed by an immigrant, liberal or whatever (right or wrong) the day it happens with few facts. If it is something against say Muslims or done by domestic terrorists killing based on race than they have to wait for all the facts to come in.
Which might as well a whistle to the normalization of hateful tactics by the far right. Who killed somebody, surrounded a counter movement with torches and beat on them and then came heavily armed the following day while bragging and looking for fights and more deaths. That is all normalized because some people fought them back.
That makes zero sense. One guy acting on what the vast majority of them brag about or want to do does not reflect back on the group then? What would?
False equivalency at its highest level of goofiness.
Look Raist bunnies...
