when in nature has there ever been a species change, from kitten to a dog?

To be fair, I gave a poor sort of example for speciation, or confused the issue, with dogs etc. I just think they are a good example of guided evolution in real time. Few would argue that a dog is a fairly different animal at this point than the common ancestor.

I think he is asking for something that is not true. Observation of say a dog becoming a cat or some such. Something that is impossible. Given that evolution makes no such claim and never has, as you know. It is all about common ancestors and divergence from those.

Which honestly (at the risk of sounding like I am dismissing loads of research) makes a pretty good amount of intuitive sense. The data has bared it out for quite a long time too.

If the various creationists or ID views held than I imagine their arguments would be a little bit better. Many that are still used were also used in the 70's. And most demonstrate a depressing lack of knowledge in genetics, biochemistry, biology and so on. Not to mention astronomy, physics, chemistry and geology (and more).

I nwould agree with change within the species, as there was change from Lion/Tigers/Panthers etc, but once again, there has NEVER been shown in nature a transistion to another wholly different kind, as natural selection Evolution rewuires for it to work!
