Your personality, experience and any skills you have acquired goes back in time to when you were 12.

Would you be grateful for this offer? You are aware of everything that will happen in between when you were 12 and now. Obviously depending on any actions you take, would impact on further developments.

Lets say you stop 9/11, this could then impact on the Iraq War etc.

I for example would still do my degree, but almost certainly wouldn't join the army. I would probably take the chance and spend the day with that blonde on the train, what about you?

Initially, I'd obviously be distraught over missing my wife and kid. But I would eventually get over it. I'd have no choice. After that, I'd probably be very grateful.

And then I'm setting about trying to correct various mistakes I made in my life. 12 was a very pivotal age for me. These would be pretty major changes, at least to my life, but I wouldn't go out of my way to change major historical events.

You would probably very quickly start not being aware of things that happen in between when you were 12 and "now," and increasingly so. For instance, when I was 12, I met the guy that became my best friend, and through him the whole clique I ended up being with throughout my teenage years. I don't really remember the precise moment we met. I remember it happening, but not the timing of it. Chances are, I would miss this window (it was literally a few minutes long), and suddenly vast memories I had would either be gone or inapplicable, depending on how time travel works. That one change would redirect a huge part of my life to the point where I'd likely be fundamentally different in 2017. In just a few years (if that), you'd likely be in completely uncharted territory.
