If someone does something very bad, but they are a fantastic performer, can you both admire them and destest them?

Harvey Weinstein - ugly inside and out, somehow it's easier to see a bloated mess and know he is a scumbag, it seems right.

Beniot on the other hand was an amazing performer, his matches with Kurt Angle were spectacular. What he did to his family was beyond despicable.

Whilst Spacey is not on my all time favourite list, I respect his body of work, the Usual Suspects, American Beauty etc.

Similarly, Michael Jackson got a complete pass from the general public for clearly preferring underage boys. I always thought it was super-creepy that he chose cancer victims - boys who wouldn't grow up to sue him when they reached their 30s and looked back on what a mess their lived had become thanks to his interference. I still think one day Macauley Culkin will break down and tell the horrible truth about Michael.

Yet despite all of that - I still love Jackson's music. Similarly, I like most of Brian Singer's movies and most of Spacey's acting. I'll be interested to see if Spacey gets the Michael Jackson treatment or becomes a pariah. He certainly didn't handle the coming out well, before or after the scandal broke.
