Sometimes I forget that not everyone's aware of this stuff, and I make omissions. A friend of mine just read this thread and asked a good question:

'Hey, if the disciples ask where to prepare the meal, and it's the day of preparation, then isn't Passover the NEXT day, the day Jesus was crucified? Why do they eat it that night'?

The answer is that in Jewish tradition days are measured not from midnight to midnight, but from sunset to sunset. They take their measurement from the creation story in Genesis: 'And the evening and the morning were the first day'.

For example if you woke up on Monday morning it's still Monday at mid day, and all that afternoon, but as soon as the sun goes down, it's now Tuesday. And it's still Tuesday all through the night, and all through the next day until the sun goes down again.

So it's the day of preparation when the disciples ask where they're to prepare the meal, but as soon as the sun goes down, it's the next day and the meal can be eaten. that at best it should be used for inspiration, or as something to make you think and try to have a better way of life.

For the most part it's morals and teachings are not too bad. Where it breaks down is when it singles out people to "condemn" directly or indirectly.

Since mankind's hands have touched this...even if it had been pure when 1st written it has been changed to essentially help whoever was politically in charge at the time to keep their power and agendas moving forward. essentially imo...even if its 1st iteration was actually is now corrupted.

Also...I always found that line about..."Thow shall have no other gods before me"...seems like an outright admission that God is not the ONLY god out there. ;P
