This and Sandy Hook mark two separate mass shootings where little kids were murdered without prejudice. Sandy Hook was followed by people literally rushing out to buy more guns (because they thought Obama was gonna use the massacre as an excuse to take them), and Sutherland Springs elicited a response from the President blaming it on mental health issues, the same President who revoked a bill by his predecessor that made it harder for people with mental health disorders to buy guns. That kinda incongruity makes it hard imagine anything ever being done about this.
This isn't to say that these massacres sucked less back then (Columbine, Georgia Tech, etc.), but I have two little ones of my own now, and that makes it downright scary.
