Really cool stuff. Again, I am not saying it is all sunshine, but in a fair bit of biology live and let live really has a role. Animals eating each other throws a bit of a wrench in aspects of that but even then those animals do not go on murderous rampages. They kill and eat because that is their food source. They do not just go out and wipe a species out because they made the choice that "I hate antelopes".

I digress. Overall it is just an interesting thought that so many things live in ecosystems that are interacting in such complex ways and dependencies on each other. That can be both antagonistic or cooperative depending on many factors.

Very interesting thoughts. And I defer to your greater knowledge of the animal kingdom. It really does get into the weeds of animal behavior, which I find interesting.

I am more into the microbes but always loved animals. I just find it very interesting that they are much more complex than many would give them credit. In terms of inner species and interactions with unrelated animals.

Isn't that one interpretation of it? That is what I grew up with, but one could argue that Jesus himself lived by Old Testament law. If a Christian's goal is to live like Jesus than understanding all of it would be required to some extent.

It should always be understood that for Christians, Jesus is God in mortal form (except for Mormons, where things get complicated). If we believe in a historical Jesus, a mere human, then his purpose was near identical to Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha) -- to reform the old religion that had grown corrupt. Jesus was a Jew who lived under the old Judaic law, but his goal was ultimately to reform that law. That's part of the reason there has been historical tension between Jews and Christians -- because practicing Jews see Jesus as a false messiah (ironically, Jesus is held in high regard as a prophet to Muslims).

Religion and history are interesting topics.

Look Raist bunnies...
