Democrat Doug Jones just beat the red dragon, Roy Moore. In Alabama. The very heart of Trump's base. This is like the Devil being voted out of Hell.

This is jaw-dropping.

I think even the Republicans are celebrating. They won't have to deal with Senator Moore being worn around their neck like a vote-repelling garlic necklace.

Could the tide be turning?

It is good news but it is a bit troubling it takes an insane candidate with a history of going after young girls to have a Dem when by a bit over a percentage point.

Keep in mind, they voted out the other GOP candidate for this guy in a primary, before the allegations, but much was known about Moore at that point. The counter point is that this is Alabama. The reddest or right up there state there is. It is a place where having an R is basically a prereq to any sort of state wide office.

It is a 29 point swing from Trump winning Alabama. Which is insane. And it is consistent with other races so far. Races in other parts of the country, even when the GOP has won, have majorly swung the other way by sizable margins. This bodes particularly poorly for the GOP in the midterms.

However, they can force whatever they want through in the meanwhile regardless of how cruel.

And we also have to keep in mind that the GOP base was mostly fine with Moore. Particularly social conservatives. They loved the guy and blamed the women. The RNC and the president both came out for the guy and backed him. It is politics but I used to like to imagine that there was a line.

I was wrong, it seems depending on who we are talking about the line has been gone for a while. The means justify any ends for a larger portion than I wanted to believe. Alabama or not, it is just hard to believe.

It is a positive result on what should be a positive trend but this clown should never have been elected in the first place. Not because Clinton was a better candidate at all but because Trump is not fit to serve in any form or fashion anywhere.

Look Raist bunnies...
