I think this is hitting the nail on the head. Personally I don't think Trump did much to help the economy...except in one way. The investors responded pretty strongly to their perceptions of Trump being good for them whether in reality this was so or not. That perception pushed some positive effects and gains...in a way giving Trump some credit though one could argue whether by this perception or by anything he actually did.

I actually think you 2 are agreeing on this one point if not the others.
