Compared to most other countries, at least that I am aware of, the US is pretty near the top for similar countries. I am sure some war torn areas are higher.

I do think it is a bit complicated to compare apples to apples. While I support many of the measures taken, particularly removing guns from circulation, given how US culture with guns is very different than about any other country on Earth.

I may be wrong on that but it seems to be a pretty unique situation too.

Like others have said, the only realistic way to decrease the problems would not be rigorous checks on getting guns and then removing guns from circulation. And good luck with that.
