     That certainly sounds like a high-level of  defense to me. Also, not all use of self-defense is reported.

Again, the number is in dispute and 3 million seems ridiculously high given the low crime rate we have now. A Pew survey showed 24% of Americans own a gun. That is 77.5 million people. You're saying that on average 1 in 26 gun owners used their gun in self defense each year? According to FBI statistics, there were only 1,300,000 violent crimes in all of 2016. You're saying gun owners defended themselves far more often that there were even instances of violent crime.

Ironically, this is the same argument made by Lutz in many of his more guns less crime debates. They make no sense if you think about them. As if you factor the numbers out roughly it causes odd consequences.

I mean why are so many gun owners involved in so much more crime in the first place and why is that crime not being reported anywhere? Just sort of crazy stuff.

And his whole model is strangely dependent on subpopulations. Like if you remove middle age African American women his model falls apart.
