Unless you assume most other countries are more magical than the US. The US is unusual in the amount of gun crime and in particular mass shootings.
They can occur in other places but are much rarer, shouldn't that be the goal? Reduce them. As opposed to throwing up our hands, pretend we do not know why it happens and let the problem potentially get worse?
Seems you are letting your distaste of any regulation get the best of you.
There are some sensible ones, but most of what''s been suggested in terms of regulation has been tried before (Assault bans.) or ruled Unconstitutional. And certain guns are already banned and or made illegal. Also, even if there was a ban, it opens up the Black Market, because there are still currently quite a few people who own them and they can just sell them on the black market. I think that a better way is to cut out PRIVATE sales! Still, people who are determined to commit mass-murder will find another way to do it (Like cars or trucks.).
