Quote:Shootings just get most of the publicity. Cars and trucks have been used for quite a few mass killings as well. And of course 9/11.
you seem to be changing the subject to make the case that nothing should be done because removing one source of increased violence would not solve all problems.
Numerous airline regulations were changed after 9/11 to prevent it from occurring again. If we take the general logic you are using those should never have been done.
And while it is true that cars and trucks can be used for mass killing, or killing in general, it is not the case that such is their purpose. And one could point to the fact that vehicles are fairly highly regulated. Much more so than guns are. And there are more of them out there.
As a percentage they are a much lower cause.
See my below post. I said that we've already had such laws before, and they didn't really work out. Heck, during tne assault ban, Columbine STILL happened! Also, there are purposes OTHER than killing peoeple that guns serve, guns are used LAWFULLY many times. That's just a myth that some people say, but clearly many peoeple use guns for reasons OTHER than killing.
