To be fair though, you do like to point out that people die from other things. That is a tactic usually used by somebody who is trying to diminish the role of firearms in the issue. Which is often made, at least from my experience, from places of putting more value on arguing the nuances of firearms than it is actually debating much else. I mean that generally it is made to say "Thing x also kills people, but nobody is going to ban that thing". Which is a pretty poor argument. If one considers cars for instance, it has come up a few times here. People are still killed by cars, in varying ways. However, cars are regulated. I imagine that somebody arguing from a similar point of view would be along the lines that the regulations have failed since we still see these things. However, I would argue the reverse. If we did not require training many more people would die, kids driving cars would kill more and DUI laws at least do something. It is just hard to quantify preventative measures.
